Shadow

Shadow was convinced
It created light
Shadow could not believe
Itself secondary
The day shadow learned how to make light
It became that much darker
Then shadow gave up
Happy just to feel
Light on its face.

Shining there, raining here. Strange brown, violet, yellow and green tones in the gray. The first time I’m aware of seeing sheets of rain white and gold. Behind me, a full rainbow on robin’s-egg blue.
