William Van Doren, STILLNESS IS THE MOVE. Sunset from Stony Point, Albemarle County, Va. Oil on Arches watercolor block, 17 x 23.
Title from the song by Dirty Projectors.
William Van Doren, LAZY-HAZY-CRAZY. Sunset from Stony Point, Albemarle County, Va. Oil on canvas, 24 x 30.
From the Nat King Cole song, and if this becomes an earworm for anyone, I sincerely apologize. I don’t know about “Lazy,” but “Hazy” definitely applied. Although the sun was nowhere visible in the soupy gray haze, at about 93° (34°), its presence was everywhere felt. As for “Crazy,” I have nothing to say.
