On the Way Home – Meta-Sunset, 2016/17

William Van Doren, ON THE WAY HOME. Based on sunsets from White Shop, Culpeper County, Va. Oil on canvas, 60 x 84.

This painting, five by seven feet, was commissioned for a family in White Shop, Virginia, near Culpeper. Title derives from the fact that they (wife and husband, who both work in Warrenton) wanted this to be based on views they have as they're returning from work.
